STRUCTURE
In Europe we have 3 divisions:
- in vitro laboratory
- hardening off and breeding company
- shares in companies, specialized in growing finished products
The in vitro laboratory is located at Weststraat 129 in Sleidinge,
where all our tissue culture plants are produced. Because the lab
is equipped with the latest techniques and managed by very experienced
people, we are able to achieve optimal quality and production assurance
there.

In 1982, we began in-vitro multiplication
of plants. Our current laboratory was built in 1994 and has
been expanded regularly since then. The total surface area
is now 2000 square meters of floor space with 2200 square
meters of cultivation area. In the course of 2003, the laboratory
will become more than twice as large.
The hardening off and breeding company has its head office
at Droogte 139 in Evergem. More than 30,000 square meters
of greenhouse is available for cultivating plants. 12 hectares
of land have been bought this year, preparing the way for
future expansion.
|
Although many of the plants are still processed manually, we are
investing heavily in 2003 in automatic plant processing. This will
be especially beneficial for the uniformity of the plants.
Deroose Plants has shares in companies in Belgium and the Netherlands,
where the end product is cultivated from several Deroose Plants
specialties. Particular care is taken so that these companies do
not compete with existing customers. A good example is the production
of Nepenthes by DK Deroose-Kuipers in the Netherlands.
